Broken Katana: Writing Diary – 4

We’re leaping forward! Had a bit of inspiration last night on how to make this whole thing move and groove and so now I’m running forward on Goblin Fire, the final book in this Arc. It’ll all be included and packaged together in the Broken Katana omnibus that’s heading to Kickstarter next month.

My goal is to be finished with Goblin Fire before heading to AWP in exactly one month, which should not be a problem. Means that everything will be complete and ready to go for the Kickstarter.

I had a few funny ideas to include, with one of them being to finally enter the POV of Lady Agova, our lovely giantess. We’ll see if I go that direction, but the goal would be to show the reader something new, to allow them insight into something they never realized, to transform the novel.

I spent too long agonizing about how to enter this final volume, but it all became so simple once I remembered what these books are about.

They’re simple, really. They’re meant to be fun and thrilling and wild and funny, so that’s what I want to deliver. I have a bit more freedom here at this point in the novel because you’re already 350+ pages deep into this story. There’s less of a need to immediately grab you once more, especially since this will only be packaged in the omnibus edition.

But, yes, back at it and having fun.
